Werder Bremen 2 is the reserve team of the German professional football club Werder Bremen. The team currently plays in the fourth tier of German football, Regionalliga Nord, after being relegated in the 2019/20 season.
The team was founded in 2009 and has been a regular participant in the Regionalliga Nord since then, except for a brief stint in the fifth tier in the 2016/17 season. The reserve team serves as a development platform for young talent in the Werder Bremen academy, with players hoping to eventually break into the first team.
Notable players to have played for Werder Bremen 2 include current Werder Bremen captain Niklas Moisander, as well as Max Kruse and Davy Klaassen, who went on to play for the first team and become key players for the club.
